<p>A Note: Sources show the 2nd Bt., Sir George de la Poer Beresford, as having a son, William Carr de la Poer Beresford, b. 1858 and d. 14 May 1880. (this is cited as having come from "Burke's Peerage"). William was Sir George's younger son; the elder, John Edward Francis de la Poer Beresford (23 Jun 1851 - 1854) died in infancy. This cannot be correct; if William did in fact live until 1880, he should have then become the 3rd Bt. as of 11 Feb 1873, when Sir George died. However, the 3rd Bt. was Sir Henry Monson de la Poer Beresford-Peirse, Sir George's nephew and son of Sir George's younger half-brother, William Beresford de la Poer Beresford-Peirse.</p>

<p>I assume that the year 1880 is a typo on the part of my source. If I am ever financial enough to get a subscription so that I can check Burke's for myself, I will look at this.
