<p>Descended from Thomas Blood, of Kilnaboy, Co. Clare, Ireland.</p>

<p>Thomas was a great-grandson of Edmund Blood of Makeney; for his ancestry, see <a href="blood_kilnaboy.shtml#blood_7">The Bloods of Kilnaboy</a>.</p>

<p>Bohersallagh (later known as Applevale) is situated on the Craggaunboy River, approximately two miles from the village of Corofin. The name 'Bohersallagh' means 'The Boggy Road'.  The property, composed of about 200 acres of river flats, was renamed 'Applevale', after the fruitful apple orchards. Although the orchards are long gone, the stone gateposts and the shell of the house still stand today.</p>
